The Business Center at the Cullman Branch of the Cullman County Public Library System is committed to providing excellent service to its personal and business community by providing access to diverse and up-to-date business and investment information in a variety of appropriate formats.

The Business Center is coordinated by the staff of the Reference and Adult Services Department and is open during normal library hours. Reference staff are available to assist you between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Security and Exchange Commission (SEC)/Edgar - Find the annual reports and other disclosure statements for companies required to file with the SEC. Select "SEARCH in EDGAR."

Yahoo Company Index - WWW Sites arranged by category. Corporate homepages often include annual reports.

Hoover's Online - gives search for capsulated corporate information on over 600 companies, including job listings.

Better Business Bureau - Use this site to find your local BBB and access business and consumer alerts as well as other helpful resources. Allows user to file complaints online.

Bank Rate Monitor -Provides free up-to-date interest rate listings for mortgages, consumer loans, credit cards and other financial services.

Better Business Bureau - Use this site to find your local BBB and access business and consumer alerts as well as other helpful resources. Allows user to file complaints online.

Consumer Information Center - This site makes available free full-text versions of the best federal consumer publications available on a variety of topics.

Consumer World - links to hundred on consumer information resources on the web, like airfares, locating ATM machines, filing consumer complaints.

Edmund's Car Values - This guide gives advice and information about new and used cars. Trucks, vans, and sport utility vehicles. It includes the latest road tests, recall history, and safety information.

Internal Revenue Service - The official site where you can get tax information and forms.

J.K. Lasser's Your Income Tax - full text version of the income tax Guide for the current year.

Kelley Blue Book - Cars and Trucks - Gives new and used vehicle values, including values for models up to 21 years old.

Money Online Best Rates - similar to Bank Rate Monitor, includes calculators to determine savings, mortgage rates, etc.

NADA.Com - free consumer prices & information as well as industry news, statistics, & trends.

Social Security Administration - Government site with helpful index. Has links to information for employers, employees, and personal social security files.

ECONOMIC STATISTICS & DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION:

U.S. Census Bureau - site for government obtained statistics, the best access point is through Subjects A-Z. Includes current population statistics and projections, current economic indicators, and other demographic information.

Bureau of Labor Statistics - Offers data and statistics on employment, unemployment, earnings, productivity, jobs and careers, prices. Gives contact numbers and allows geographical searches.

Consumer Price Index - links directly to the latest CPI information.

Economics at a Glance - Has information, statistics, data on civilian labor force, unemployment, earnings, productivity, producer prices and consumer prices. Links to geographic areas.

Minimum Wage - links to the latest minimum wage.

GPO ACCESS - government site with free access to over 70 governmental databases, including the Federal Register, U.S. Code, Budget, Government Manual, Congressional Bills, Congressional Record, Public Laws. Allows ordering of publications from USGPO bookstores.

Global Financial Planning Center - includes historical statistics on the stock market, inflation, and exchange and interest rates.

Mutual Funds Interactive - gives investing advice and information on various mutual fund groups.

NASDAQ Stock Market Home Page - summarizes the day's trading on NASDAQ, gives stock quotes, active stocks and allows searches for companies and corporate information.

NewsPage Stock Quotes - 15 minute delay on stock information, historical charts, earnings per share, and information on other markets, selected industry groups and more.

NYSE Net - designed as a tool for investors, students and teachers, includes historical information about the NYSE, NYSE annual report, and summaries of the previous day's trading.

SEC/EDGAR - annual reports and disclosure statements filed with the SEC. Select "SEARCH in EDGAR."

NetWorth - Gives Morningstar fund profiles, stock quotes, market outlooks, and a financial planning center.

Holt Report - report issued daily with high, low, and close prices on major indices along with most active stock info.

European Business Directory - Access to over 150,000 European suppliers. Click on "European Economic Data" and read over 100 pages of analysis. Lists trade shows.

IMPORT/EXPORT Library - Government agencies, world trade centers, Chambers of Commerce, stock exchanges, guides and schedules, currency exchange rates, translation dictionaries, trade shows, business resources, and search utilities.

International Trade Administration - Info on countries, industries, cross-cutting programs, trade stats, and export/import info.
