Davis-Shaw House J.J.Davis constructed this house in the middle of the town of Holly Pond in 1896/97.  It later became the home of the Walter Shaw Family.

Neal-Taylor-Shaw House/Store/Post Office

Ownership: Billie Neal, Frank Neal, Fayte Taylor, Green Shaw, Walter Shaw,& Earney Shaw.

Earney Shaw took this photo from the attic of the J.J. Davis house next door.  The roof covering was being replaced which allowed him to take this photo of his mother as she threw out the dishwater from the kitchen door of their home.

What appears to be someone kneeling on the front porch is actually 2 pillows "sunning" on  a chair.

The drums out front are empty gasoline containers.  The Shaw store did not have an in ground gasoline tank, Mr. Shaw would haul gas from Cullman in the drums.  They sat upright when filled and were placed on their side when empty - easy to keep inventory.

The Hanner-Davis Girls House is in the background (site of the current post office).

Looking over the Hanner-Davis House is the Butler-Moon House.

Across the Holly Pond-Brooklyn Road is the Gin-Grist Mill/Saw Mill - note the smokestack.

The first house on the left of the road is the Hammock House.

The dark colored roof of the store area is side porch enclosed to provide space for the Post Office.
